During events, set-up and take-down work is performed that involves intensive cleaning of paint materials and tools. This led to contamination of the sanitary facilities and rinse water ending up untreated in the sewer system. The challenge for RAI Amsterdam was to find a solution that was both practical, safe, orderly and in accordance with operates in accordance with regulations.

The challenge for RAI Amsterdam was to find a solution that was both practical, safe, orderly and in accordance with operates in accordance with regulations.
Trivec provided a temporary pilot setup consisting of an AS80 rinse water system, dirty water pump, IBC buffer storage and cleaning components such as a Rotoclean roller cleaner and brush cleaner at 20 bar high pressure.
In addition, two structural solution approaches were developed:
Option 1: Processing in combination with an AC400-4 treatment unit for batch internal treatment.
Option 2: Collection in IBCs and disposal through the waste processor as chemical waste.
By testing these two scenarios side by side, RAI Amsterdam was able to determine in a substantiated manner which solution best suited their organization and cost structure.
The pilot setup was placed on site for three weeks. Trivec provided transport, installation advice and instruction to employees. During the pilot period we monitored how the system functioned in daily practice. Afterwards, we evaluated together with the client which final set-up was most suitable.
The pilot gave RAI Amsterdam concrete insight into water consumption, wastewater flows and ease of use for employees. The temporary test setup allowed a well-considered choice to be made between internal purification or external disposal as chemical waste. This reduced the investment risk, increased operational control and created a clearer long-term cost overview.
